00:00:07.948 --> 00:00:17.867
Hi kids, this is hockey bomb Kristy, daughter of Sophia along, and we're recording this in the car on a road trip.

00:00:17.867 --> 00:00:18.649
Why not?

00:00:18.649 --> 00:00:20.342
It is right to the right camp for all.

00:00:20.342 --> 00:00:22.769
So let's get going with this topic.

00:00:22.769 --> 00:00:48.247
I have to give a little shout out to Sophia because, sophia, every team you've ever been on from lights, squirts, pee, Wees, travel, aaa college every coach you've ever had has always described you to us as a coachable kid, and that's so cool and I'm so proud of you.

00:00:48.247 --> 00:00:49.811
Let's define that.

00:00:49.811 --> 00:00:51.585
What does it mean to be a coachable kid?

00:00:52.820 --> 00:01:14.084
I think it's super important to make sure you're receptive to what your coach is telling you and showing you on the board, and it's especially important not to be afraid to ask questions like how can I improve this, or how can I do this better, or should I've done this during this play, stuff like that, Ah and during games.

00:01:14.444 --> 00:01:15.507
How important is that?

00:01:17.200 --> 00:01:23.893
It's super important because then you fix your mistakes and capitalize on opportunities more.

00:01:24.579 --> 00:01:44.206
Yeah, I'm just because I've never played hockey, so I don't know anything about how to pivot during a game, because a lot of times you might have a certain thought in your head of how what you should be doing, and then the coach tells you something different, and that's part of being coachable.

00:01:44.206 --> 00:01:47.969
So how do you adjust to those kind of changes?

00:01:48.962 --> 00:01:57.790
Well, it's important to take what they're saying and their consideration, because you're seeing just what you see when you're on the ice and the coach is seeing the whole ice.

00:01:57.790 --> 00:02:00.748
So if they're a good coach, they know what they're talking about.

00:02:01.700 --> 00:02:05.811
Ah, a late bulb moment there for me, hopefully for your kids.

00:02:05.811 --> 00:02:11.252
Reputation, because you know you got the reputation of being a coachable kid.

00:02:11.252 --> 00:02:18.532
How important is it to have a good reputation, hockey and can you have a bad reputation?

00:02:18.532 --> 00:02:20.729
Can that follow you?

00:02:20.729 --> 00:02:20.830
Yeah?

00:02:21.918 --> 00:02:22.219
definitely.

00:02:22.219 --> 00:02:36.990
I mean, hockey is such a close knit sport so you know a lot of teams, know each other, you play against the same teams and that kind of stuff will follow you If you want to keep a good reputation coachable kids.

00:02:37.129 --> 00:02:38.151
make that your goal.

00:02:38.151 --> 00:02:40.677
Okay, thanks for listening to this.

00:02:40.677 --> 00:02:46.236
This edition of Ride to the Rink, christiane Sophia signing off.

00:02:46.236 --> 00:02:47.219
Do, do, do, do.

00:02:47.219 --> 00:02:52.289
That's how all the professional athletes keep theXX in here to go.

00:02:52.289 --> 00:02:52.531
Bye-bye.
