00:00:07.530 --> 00:00:11.282
Hello hockey skaters and goalies around the world, and welcome to another edition of the ride to the rink.

00:00:11.282 --> 00:00:15.140
This is Lee Elias, and we have a very, very special guest for you today.

00:00:15.140 --> 00:00:22.826
Kim Davis, who joined us on our normal broadcast of our kids play hockey this week, put together a little message specifically for you now.

00:00:22.826 --> 00:00:29.047
Kim Davis is one of the highest ranking officials, not just at the NHL but in hockey around the world.

00:00:29.047 --> 00:00:45.229
What she says really matters and has a lot of impact, and she wanted to share a message with you about the importance that you have, as the young hockey players out there, to be courageous, to pave a path forward for the game, and how much the NHL believes in you as you move forward on that path.

00:00:45.229 --> 00:00:46.171
Let's hear from Kim.

00:00:48.439 --> 00:01:10.459
First of all, I'll start by saying I get up every day with joy about being part of this sport because of what I see in the next generation of leaders, and I feel like everything that I'm doing now is paying it forward for that generation that will take the helm and will make our sport and our society better.

00:01:10.459 --> 00:01:13.911
They go hand in hand, in my opinion.

00:01:13.911 --> 00:01:21.995
I think it's really important that this generation continue to act on courage.

00:01:21.995 --> 00:01:29.240
Continue to act on courage.

00:01:29.240 --> 00:01:33.292
Nothing in life happens without those that are willing to stand up and have the courage to speak, and courage doesn't come without fear.

00:01:33.391 --> 00:01:45.272
You said it earlier, lee, that you know there are a lot of things that we are scared of, and in spite and despite being scared, we have to have the courage to persevere and to push through.

00:01:45.272 --> 00:01:58.811
And so my message to this generation is you know, stand for what you believe in, be a continuous learner, understand that there are a lot of people counting on you guys to take us forward.

00:01:58.811 --> 00:02:21.604
This country might feel very polarized now, but there's a bright future ahead because of who is going to be in leadership in the next 10 to 20 years, and all of us on this call for sure and many of us not on this call are counting on this generation to take the helm of leadership and to move our country, our society and our world forward.

00:02:22.306 --> 00:02:22.987
And Kim.

00:02:22.987 --> 00:02:27.724
I'll add on to that that the three of us you and me, mike we believe in you too.

00:02:27.724 --> 00:02:34.487
To these kids, right Like I think that's sometimes a message they might not hear enough that we're counting on you and we believe in you right.

00:02:34.527 --> 00:02:34.949
That's right.

00:02:37.721 --> 00:02:42.867
We want to thank Kim Davis so much for giving us the time on coming on to Our Kids Play Hockey and the Ride to the Rink.

00:02:42.867 --> 00:02:52.311
Both of those episodes are available right now at ourkidsplayhockeycom or wherever you can listen to podcasts but kids listening.

00:02:52.311 --> 00:02:53.395
Once again, remember, we believe in you wholeheartedly.

00:02:53.395 --> 00:02:54.460
We've made this show just for you.

00:02:54.460 --> 00:02:58.991
You keep us going, you make us believe and you're gonna lead us into a really bright future.

00:02:58.991 --> 00:02:59.801
We believe in you.

00:02:59.801 --> 00:03:01.004
Make sure you do as well.

00:03:01.004 --> 00:03:02.490
That's gonna do it for this ride to the rink.

00:03:02.490 --> 00:03:03.301
We'll see you next time.

00:03:03.301 --> 00:03:04.185
Remember to have have fun.

00:03:04.185 --> 00:03:06.171
Get out there and skate on.
